Security Without Compromise

Biometric identification ensures unparalleled accuracy in access control, providing the highest level of security for facilities requiring enhanced protective measures.

ManuScan

BIOMETRIC IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM

ManuScan is a biometric identification system that uses palm vein scanning technology. The system significantly improves security by providing highly accurate user identification and eliminating risks associated with lost, duplicated, stolen, or transferred identifiers. The palm vein scanning method is hundreds of times more reliable than the commonly used fingerprint scanning and is contactless, which is crucial for maintaining hygiene.

In terms of reliability, this method directly competes with more complex and expensive systems like retina or iris scanning while remaining more user-friendly and straightforward.

Biometric identification significantly enhances security by leveraging unique physiological characteristics. This eliminates the risks of unauthorized access through stolen passwords or physical keys and access cards.

The ManuScan system can be equipped with two types of scanners:

  • External scanners are installed on building facades or entry points to premises.
  • Internal scanners are installed at entrances to individual rooms.

Both types serve the same purpose: identifying individuals entering a premises or area and restricting unauthorized access.

ManuScan offers:

• Accurate and fast identification.
• Integration with most ACS and industrial systems that require precise user identification.
• Triple encryption / Non-replicable identifiers.
• Ease of use.
• Hygiene (contactless interaction with the sensor surface).
• Simple and quick installation.

      Work Principles and Integration Options:

      HOW IT WORKS

The ManuScan system operates by reading infrared radiation reflected from the palm. Since oxygen-depleted hemoglobin absorbs infrared light, the veins in the palm reflect less radiation compared to the rest of the hand. This allows the system to recognize the unique vein pattern of each user’s palm and use it as an identifier.

      INTEGRATION OPTIONS

The ManuScan system can be used both as part of an Access Control and Time Management System and in standalone mode.

In standalone mode, the ManuScan controller can independently manage up to four devices (locks, alarms, etc.) via a USB I/O Box, receiving data from four separate scanners. For larger systems requiring more devices or scanners, multiple ManuScan controllers can be combined into a single network. Once networked, all controllers share access to biometric scanners and databases, allowing new user data to be entered into just one controller without duplicating data entry across the system.

When integrated into an Access Control System, ManuScan provides biometric user identification and sends corresponding data to the ACS server. Each additional hand position (left or right palm, or both) relative to the biometric scanner is assigned a unique identifier. This enables the implementation of various algorithms at the ACS level, depending on the hand presented and its position (e.g., opening or locking doors, enabling or disabling alarms, calling security, etc.). This expands the standard capabilities of an ACS with additional control and notification functions.

ManuScan, as part of an ACS, retains the ability to autonomously control up to four devices directly connected to the controller. This allows the creation of a completely autonomous and independent zone of control and access (e.g., a server room, a bank vault, or an armory) separate from the main management system.
