Loop DoS

Loop DoS

Cybercriminals Are Constantly Mastering New Ways to Harm Network Services, and Hacking Attacks Are Evolving as Rapidly as the Methods to Counter Them.

Recently, researchers described a new application-layer attack vector based on the User Datagram Protocol (UDP). These attacks, called Loop DoS, primarily target users of Microsoft and Cisco systems. As a result of the attack, network services are “trapped” in an infinite loop, generating enormous amounts of traffic.

It has been established that by exploiting this vulnerability, attackers can create a self-perpetuating issue that produces excessive traffic indefinitely. This, in turn, leads to a denial of service for the targeted system or entire network. Consequently, servers stop processing normal requests.

It’s clear that cybercrime will continue to evolve and progress. Stay one step ahead of fraudsters. Protect your business’s IT infrastructure with services from Infocom.
